How to Apply For The GEI Graduate Programs

 The Korean education system runs on an academic year that runs March - December.Namseoul University Program processes graduate school applications twice a year: December for admission into Spring Semester (March)  and May for admission into Fall Semester (September). You may submit your applications to the Global Education Institute for the Masters in International Teaching or Masters in International Studies one month before the Namseoul Graduate School admissions week.
 
When submitting your application please double check the admission requirements carefully. Makes sure that you understand student visa requirements, cost, and housing. We want your experience at Namseoul University to go as smoothly and comfortably as possible.
 
In order to apply, you will download the applications listed in Item 1 and submit them to the Namseoul Globel Education Institute who will review them and forward them to the Namseoul Graduate Studies Department for final processing. 
 
After processing, a representative of Namseoul GEI program will contact you for an in-person interview. These interviews are held via Skype for students applying from outside the country and in-person for those currently residing in South Korea. If you reside in the country but are not able to attend an in-person interview, please contact the GEI office at gec@nsu.ac.kr to request a consideration.

  • Korean bank transfer

*The Korean Language and English Language graduate departments all submit the same form. If you need assistance with understanding the format or language used in the form please contact us at nkim@nsu.ac.kr. We are happy to offer clarification. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. 

Additional Documents 

  • A copy of the Diploma including an Apostille or Certificate of Authentication from an undergraduate institution.

  • Official Transcripts (Apostille or Certificate of Authentication) of all baccalaureate and graduate degrees.

  • The last page of the Application requests "Consent to collect and use your personal information." The first two signatures are REQUIRED to process the admission, and the last one <개인정보 제3자 제공에 대한 동의> is optional. 

  • Copy of Korean ID Card. This includes those on F and E visas.

  • A Certificate of Deposit Balance (USD 18,000.00) in a South Korean bank.

  • Scholarship Applications and required paperwork

  • Dormitory Housing Application

How to Apply For The GEI Graduate Programs

  • November/December for admission into Spring Semester (March) 
  • April/May for admission into Fall Semester (September). 
 
Exact dates vary and are not announced until 1-2 weeks prior to Admission Week. However, you do not have to wait for the announcement to submit your application to GEI. You may submit your applications to the Global Education Institute for the Masters in International Teaching or Masters in International Studies one month before the Namseoul Graduate School admissions week.

  • Submitted cash with application package via post.

  • If neither of these options works, contact gec@nsu.ac.kr to coordinate a wire transfer.

English Language Proficiency Levels

A) In order to graduate from the program, students should achieve a score of:

IELTS 6.5

iBT TOEFL 71

TEPS 600

B) Exemption: Students who have a bachelor's degree* from one of the recognized English-speaking Countries may receive an exception from the English Language Proficiency testing.
